This is funny, my BF was showing his beautiful photography at a very chic store called "SATINE." There's a huge print of me from one of our shoots in Reno ... im wearing an Indian / showgirl headdress I made for Halloween. So I put the headdress next to the photo in the store. Next thing you know Shannon from Satine calls and says Kesha's stylist wants to know about the headdress, I say its not for rent but I'll sell for$$$$ cash. I guess she liked it, Im sitting here with Kesha's money. Her stylist says she will be wearing it at the Japan MTV music awards. I guess add accessory designer to my resume'

hello homies,

As some of u know Im attending the 2010 Cannes Film Festival in support of my film "The Killers." So yesterday my music booking agent and I were the grand prix in Monaco, then the director of the film said if you wanna do press get here by 6pm. So 1 taxi ride and rushing through only make-up provided by the l'oreal at the Martinez hotel, and directly into a festival car and onto the carpet. My co-star Said Taghmaoui is a very well know French Actor currently filming Conan in Bulgari, is really loved here in Cannes. So this morning I was happy to see that in Gala magazine theres a plug for our film and my friend brian lichtenberg the designer of my dress. Said's agent also said Italian Vogue was picking up the pictures. The film is being received well at the Cannes short film corner and is in the 80% of viewing. Afterwards I was booked to sing my tracks at a collective film investment company "Green Nefertiti" party, Michelle Rodriguez was on hand Djing the tracks while sang.

Im a lucky girl and got casted for European Panasonic "luminx" camera commercial that will go on before movies in Europe. hence the adventure began with a 20 hr ride to Cairo 2 days there then Luxor which is where Karnak and the Valley of the kings and Queens are located. I had a day to hang with my love D who came along for a ride, while the male actor nathan did the print campaign. Then we shot the commercial for 2 days from dusk to dark. then back to Cairo where we hung till monday D had to go back to the USA, so me nathan proceeded to press forward to sherm on the coast of the red sea and to Dehab the wild east of Egypt. But we stumbled into a club there and the Dj played "escape me" which sent my heart into a dizzy all the way out here they could hear me singing about getting drunk n mad. Oh its a big world, I went snorkeling in the red sea and we climbed to the top of mt Sinai. I love some desert adventures.

C.C. Sheffield ~ Missy in Season 3

A couple weeks ago, casting was announced that C.C. Sheffield was selected to play the part of Missy in Season 3, episode one – “Pack of Wolves.” We had a chance to catch up with CC and here she is, on the set.

TB-N: How does it feel to be a part of True Blood?

CCS: I feel very excited I’m huge fan of Alan Ball, and all his work. So I was honored as an actress to work on a show that has top notch quality writing, and acting. Oh and hot hot guys.

TB-N: We hear the cast and the set is a great place to be. Have you had any funny moments yet?

CCS: The cast is so welcoming and very professional. After my episode’s table read the director introduced me to Ryan Kwanten; to break the ice, I said, “So I’m gonna be ******* you,” and he laughed. The director assured me that every shot is planned and it will be fun. I was very impressed by Jim Parrack he is a great actor, he studies at Playhouse West, he puts up plays every year on his own dime. I was bemoaning theater in Los Angeles, and it was inspiring to talk to actors who are self motivated in their commitment to the craft.
TB-N: Do you have any other projects in the works or are you focusing on True Blood?

CCS: This year is exciting; I have a single I wrote called “Escape Me” on Tiesto’s new album “Kalidescope.” He will be performing Coachella and I will hopefully be joining him. My own solo record, “Golden Grime” will be digitally released in March. As far as on the sliver screen, I have bit part in Sofia Coppola’s movie “Somewhere” coming out this summer. Also [I'll be in] “Street Dreams,” Rob Drydek’s skate movie. I was the female lead alongside all-pro skaters Paul Rodriguez Jr. and Ryan Sheckler; that DVD is going to be released this year.

TB-N: I see you are filming with Ryan; how has that experience been? Ryan is known for getting naked – are you following his lead? :)

CCS: Yes of course. I’m into nudity.

TB-N: Without giving anything away, can you tell us what’s in store for the fans in season 3?
Lots of action and flesh.

Here are some photos from the set. We might guess what Jason Stackhouse is doing with two beautiful women in robes but what I want to know, is how the prop lamp is going to meet its demise? If you notice the lamp says “break away.” This means it’s a stunt lamp; you can get smacked in the head with it and it won’t hurt. I didn’t think I could be more excited about season 3, but the clues keep coming and the excitement builds. C.C., we hope you have fun with Jason Stackhouse.

Though known to Westsiders for spinning at The Standard in Hollywood, C.C. Sheffield is also an emerging songwriter with the lyrical nihilism that leads you to believe she’s not afraid of being punched in the face. For the track Escape Me, the former lead singer of Le Rev’s self-directed video starred Sheffield in an all-out brawl at Echo Park dive bar Little Joy with Little Loca, now a YouTube sensation. Cue balls cracked into skulls, draft beer poured over weaves—rest assured the night doesn’t end on a pretty note. “I’ve worked on the music scene since I was, like, 14 in Arizona, and I was definitely a target of some of the vata chicks. So I had to incorporate Little Loca for this,” she says.

Blunt and unpretentious, Sheffield has gone solo and was recently asked by DJ Tiësto to contribute a track for his upcoming album, which drops in October and also includes Nelly Furtado and Tegan and Sara. A recent song she worked on with Grammy-nominated producer Max Martin nearly made it onto the latest Kelly Clarkson album—perhaps to butch up the American Idol star’s street cred, Sheffield says. “The song’s all about drunk dialing and hooking up. Kelly didn’t want it, but she’s retarded. So whatever.”

Another bar fight is probably out of the question, however; Sheffield’s moved on. “Everyone in L.A. goes through a lot of different phases. For me, first it was “What the fuck am I doing?’, then it became an Echo Park drunky-punk phase. Now I’m feeling more Marina-del-Rey-sailboat.” —A.H.

Taking a literal setlist approach to reflect L.A.’s current mood is the mark of any hack DJ. The Station Fire’s devastating flames are particularly rife for turntable melodrama to further fray our collective nerves (blech), which is why we’re happy that KCRW’s Mathieu Schreyer is on the late-Friday-night shift with sets both raucous and sensitive. “I think about it; everything’s on fire,” he says. “But it doesn’t influence what I’m doing. Something crazy is always happening. I just feel for the people affected.”

Schreyer joined the 89.9 FM line-up by way of colleague and Chocolate City host Garth Trinidad. A native of a France, his tastes, unsurprisingly, reflect a broad worldview, spanning Latin and reggae, hip-hop and electronica. But the underlying thread of his three-hour show is less a trite, Up With People vibe, and more a coronation for the ideal weekend—even if it devolves into a sloppy hangover and Carl’s Jr. wrappers inexplicably tossed on the kitchen floor by Sunday morning.

That “Mr. French” is Rosario Dawson’s beau you probably already know. That he is a chief collector of Nom de Guerre, you may not: Schreyer has been friends with the fashion label’s Isa Saalabi since its first season. “Like my music, I like well-made clothes that can express emotions,” he says. Despite Nom de Guerre’s brilliant, wayward-wanderer-meets-military-might fall/winter 2009 collection, “burn baby, burn” is not one of them. —A.H.

i hung out for 2.5 days by myself in Montreal no phone... internet in the hotel lobby... i took pictures, went to value village and got 9 pieces of clothes for $65 including 2 Nicole miller dresses, and 1 hat. I memorized lines for an audition "rushlight", joggers kept thinking i was talking to them as i was muttering to myself about finding my roommate died with a needle in her arm. ha ha ha... while i climbed around mount royal park one of Montreal's largest greenspaces. The park, most of which is wooded, was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed New York's Central Park, and inaugurated in 1876.

I met him last year in a meeting with my publisher, he was handsome and charming, and impassioned about working with artist out of his electronic genre. So I sent him off with a CD of my music and he said he love for me to be apart of his up coming record. So ESCAPE ME has been TIESTO ISD, your gonna start hearing C.C. SHEFFIELD in the clubs. Im sitting here listening to an advance copy of the record Kaleidoscope, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA its so gooooood. Included as guest singers are NELLY FURTADO- i remember her first single when i was in jr. high IM LIKE A BIRD I ONLY FLY AWAY. Also my favorite lezzy sisters Tegan and SARA singing an amazing song and with tiesto's production it will knock you out, so high and lite far from their indie production but their voices are so unmistakable. Also we have Calvin Harris making an appearance, there are many more.
SO in preparation for his upcoming tour Tiesto is working with moment factory of montreal canada, to prep an interactive insane live show. this is benefit show for a great lady in L.A. heres what its about in her own words
I’m sure you all know that I was in the hospital at the beginning of May due to complications from lupus anticoagulant, a blood clotting disorder that I was diagnosed with 17 years ago.
My health insurance is for people with pre-existing conditions, so I have incurred a lot of medical expenses that my insurance won’t cover.
Thankfully, I am blessed with many good friends that have agreed to play a benefit show for me.
The show is this Thursday July 2 at the Echoplex and Echo.
I would love to see you there!! But if you are out of town or just can’t afford to spend money on a concert right now, perhaps you could send the info to friends who you think would be interested.

I caught C.C. Sheffield riding her white vintage bicycle down the concrete sidewalk on a sunny California afternoon. Clad in tight skinny jeans, a purple tank, and a sheer violet scarf flowing through her bob, C.C. is a chic bohemian; a well dressed free spirit, (think Ernest Hemingway’s Brett meets the cover of a Free People catalogue). As we introduced ourselves, C.C. reached into the basket fastened on her bicycle and yanked out Kiki, a teeny teacup terrier, and as we entered Hollywood's American Rag Café, inconspicuously zippered the canine into her leather pocketbook.

One shake, two straws, and countless secret rubdowns of Kiki later, C.C. and I got to talking about history: her (surprisingly unusual) life story, her hectic present, and her plans for the future.

Raised in Tucson, Arizona, little C.C was brought up as a religious Mormon. In her teens the budding rebel got a job at a local punk venue and began obsessively collecting CDs of bands like The Raincoats, Bikini Kill, L7, and powerhouse women like Liz Phair, and Fiona Apple. “The music I was listening to was such a departure from what I was supposed to be into – the screaming rock and roll, my developing interest in feminism – Mormonism is a very strict and patriarchal religion.”

“Originally I did not want to be a musician” said C.C, still struggling with her religious background. “I had to do some serious deprogramming on myself before that I could see that career as a viable possibility. Music was my secret rebellion.”

As C.C. came close to graduating high school she realized that her only option was to attend Morman College, just as her four older sisters (and current housewives) had. “I knew Tuscon wasn’t for me. So I grabbed some clothes, started my car and came out here. There was no safety net for me.” cooed the captivating entertainer, cup of coffee in hand.

After bouncing around local youth hostiles (telling the owners she was Canadian so she wouldn’t be kicked out for being an American homeless person), getting a job as nanny, babysitter, and working late night at as Abercrombie and Fitch employee, C.C. began to collect a myriad of unique experiences (and love affairs).

It was these “Tales of Running Away” that eventually inspired her band Le Rev’s debut EP of the same name. When C.C. was nineteen she met up with Nico Chiotellis, her soon to be guitar player. C.C. says, “Nico was the first person I ever sang in front of. Then we got obsessed with gong to open mic nights.” Pretty soon Le Rev was lining up gigs at Club Spaceland and tons of popular Echo Park spots, all the while supporting herself with lucrative modeling gigs.

Since Ms. Sheffield arrived in the City of Angels a few years back this troubadour has appeared on TV shows, commercials, music videos, DJed around the world, and written and performed tons of heart-wrenching, feel-good, and pop tunes. You probably recognize her face from one of the countless billboards she’s featured on as the face of Quicksilver Women. Right now she’s promoting her new flick “Street Dreams,” a feature film produced by MTV’s Rob and Big, which is coming out this June.

With Le Rev, as of a few months ago, officially behind her, C.C. is now in the works on her debut solo record. Filled with power pumped dance numbers, mellow love songs, break up anthems, and all around move to freak out to, Ms. Sheffield’s newest collection of songs is not one to be missed.

Her new tracks are about to infiltrate your brain. Her affable croon and catchy melodies provide the perfect soundtrack for a night out on the town, a night home mending a broken heart, and a day filled with dreaming. C.C.'s confident free spirit, raging creativity, and decision to defy her religious upbringing, made for a pretty interesting interview.

The mix of songs represents various genres and experimentation within the limits of pop/rock/dance music. C.C.’s new music includes power-charged club bangers, catchy acoustic folk, and even one track reminiscent of early Lou Reed. Although the mix is definitely eclectic, the assemblage is held together by a single thread: a cooing voice, and free-flowing emotion. In the track track "Golden Grime" C.C. sings of the idealized Hollywood life against catchy 50s-feeling doo-wop. In "Love and Peace" C.C. joins what sounds like a soulful church choir for the chorus, and in "Parasite" she turns out the party anthem for the summer of 2009.

C.C.'s plate is pretty full right now. Along with the biz’ she is also a budding photographer (she had her first photo exhibition in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood this winter) and a hot-spot DJ (she’s even spun turn tables in Egypt). She is a troubadour who takes chances, lives life, and always returns to her music.

Final Verdict: Catchy tunes that sound as good as they look. Perfect for Summer 2009.
